Randy Blach Predicts 2011 will Smash Previous US Beef Export Records
Fri, 08 Apr 2011 7:01:21 CDT
This will be the biggest beef export year in the history of US Cattle Industry- so declares Randy Blach of Cattlefax- Blach making that prediction about 2011 to the audience this past weekend at the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers 134th annual meeting in San Antonio.
At the same time, we remain competitive in the global marketplace for high quality beef- we are less expensive than either the European Union or Brazil when it comes to high quality beef- and our advantage lies in the cheaper US dollar. You add in the fact that global beef supplies have declined- and the global economy has been growing in the last eighteen months- much more so than the US economy- and those are additional factors that have led to the explosion in US beef exports.
Blach adds that our beef export situation takes into account that we still don't have full access to the Japanese market because of the age restiction on the beef carcasses that we export to Japan- and we sill don't have much beef finding its way into China. Those markets could add to the momentum that we have had in the last couple of years in the beef export arena.
Blach's comments can be heard on today's Beef Buzz- a daily radio feature broadcast on great radio stations throughout the region.
The Beef Buzz is a regular feature heard on radio stations around the state on the Radio Oklahoma Network- but is also a regular audio feature found on this website as well.
