One Major County Wheat Field Caught Some Rain- and Hits the Jackpot

Wed, 01 Jun 2011 6:10:22 CDT

One Major County Wheat Field Caught Some Rain- and Hits the Jackpot The yields across Oklahoma for the 2011 wheat crop are highly dependent on when a field received rain and how much. An excellent example of that comes from Jessica Wilcox of Fairview who sent us this email on Tuesday evening. "We just finished up a field south of Fairview that made 35.97 bu/acre. Test weight was between 60.8 to 62. Moisture was between 9 and 10. Variety was Jackpot. This field far and away out yielded everything else we have cut so far, it also caught a couple of inches of rain that most of our other fields didn't catch."

The picture here is of Jessica's husband Clint and father in law (Ron) cutting the field of Jackpot in Major County.
