Sun, 26 Jun 2011 06:30:04 CDT
The 21st Annual Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association Summer Ranch Tour gets underway Sunday afternoon and the focus for the tour this year is southeastern Oklahoma. This area of Oklahoma, also known as Kiamichi country, is rich with southern culture and is great cattle country with its abundance of forests and mountains. The ranch tour is scheduled for June 26 to June 28, 2011. Scott Dewald, Executive Director of the OCA, says the buses are full for the three day event- but that folks are welcome to join them at various stops along the way in their own vehicle.
We talked with Scott about the 2011 tour- you can hear his comments by clicking on the LISTEN BAR below.
The tour will be traveling across several counties in southeastern Oklahoma and visiting a multitude of cattle operations, including both commercial and purebred. Several different breeds will be represented by knowledgeable cattlemen on many different subjects. The tour hopes to provide a look at new and interesting ranches throughout southeastern Oklahoma.
