American Coalition for Ethanol Pleased with President Obama's Plan for Jobs
Fri, 09 Sep 2011 11:16:30 CDT
President Barack Obama is proposing a new jobs package bill termed the American Jobs Act before Congress. The proposed legislation is aimed at improving the country's infrastructure by primarily focusing on funding for new jobs programs and construction projects. The bill will now be debated in Congress.
Brian Jennings, Executive Vice President of the American Coalition for Ethanol, released the following statement.
"The President is precisely right that the best way to create U.S. jobs is for us to produce things at home that the world wants and needs. We are encouraged that the President is suggesting some changes regarding taxes for companies including, Big Oil. The ethanol industry is willing to work with both the White House and Congress on sensible measures such as our effort to reform the existing Volumetric Ethanol Excise Tax Credit (VEETC)."
"Ethanol is perhaps the most successful example of how American farmers and entrepreneurs have created small businesses and jobs to process crops and biomass into fuel and feed, not just for America but for the entire world. ACE wants to build on that current success by improving market access to ethanol, which includes more blender pumps, more Flex-Fuel Vehicles and the commercialization of cellulosic ethanol. We intend to be a strong advocate for the biofuels industry as we work with the White House and Congress on the proposed jobs package."
