Thu, 22 Sep 2011 15:30:57 CDT
Interurban Restaurant was founded in Norman, Okla., in 1976 at Norman's "Interurban" Trolley Station. Legendary Restaurants of Oklahoma continues this week with Interurban Restaurant on Sept. 23. Since the original restaurants, Interurban has expanded to several different locations including Edmond, Ardmore, Yukon and Oklahoma City.
Robert Ross, owner of Interurban, says they stand out from other restaurants because of their variety and value. With almost 70 different items on the menu, Interurban serves burgers, Tex-Mex, salads and seafood.
"We are constantly trying to improve our menu and our flavor profile," says Ross. "I think that is what qualifies Interurban Restaurants as a Legendary Restaurant of Oklahoma."
Ross says while they are expanding their menu, they are still holding onto their traditional dishes and family traditions. Interurban Restaurant pride themselves on serving Certified Angus Beef for steaks, which are aged a minimum of 21 days to ensure a nice, juicy steak to their customers.
Being open for over 30 years, Interurban is still providing a fun, family-friendly eating environment with a packed menu to their customers.
As part of the Legendary Restaurants of Oklahoma deal, at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, customers will be able to purchase two $25 vouchers to Interurban Restaurant for $25. But, there are only 100 vouchers available for purchase. The Legendary Restaurants of Oklahoma selected Interurban Restaurant because of their history and reputation as a fine dining establishment. More restaurants from across the state will be featured as legendary restaurants throughout the upcoming year.
