National Beef Cook-Off Changing With the Times

Mon, 19 Sep 2011 15:38:47 CDT

National Beef Cook-Off Changing With the Times The National Beef Cook-Off will be a little different this time around. Managed by the American National Cattlewomen and funded in part by the Beef Checkoff, the 2011 edition of the Cook-Off is aimed at reaching consumers directly in a huge food event coming up in Washington, DC.

The recipe winners of the National Beef Cook-Off will be announced on November 5 at the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show in Washington, D.C. According to Wendy Pettz, Vice Chair of the Beef Cook-Off, they will have the opportunity to visit with as many as 20,000 to 25,000 consumers at the event. They will focus on promoting the healthfulness of beef and the convenience of cooking with beef.

On top of the delicious recipes that will be sampled, also at the show, there will be a strong social media component, which allows consumers to vote for their favorite recipes.
