Catch a Tasty Deal at Bill's Fish House in Waurika

Thu, 13 Oct 2011 15:48:36 CDT

Catch a Tasty Deal at Bill's Fish House in Waurika The Legendary Restaurants of Oklahoma is kicking off again this Friday, Oct. 14, with Bill's Fish House in Waurika, Okla. Bill's Fish House started in 1962 on Red River in Waurika. Jeri Nell May, owner of Bill's Fish House, says the restaurant opened with her grandparents and her grandfather had always wanted to open a restaurant. The decision to serve catfish was simply made because it was her grandfathers favorite food.

And Bill's Fish House has been serving up that same delicious catfish that was a family favorite ever since. All of Bill's catfish are hand fileted in-house and battered in a secret family recipe. After that, they are fried until they are golden brown and still have a very light texture.

May says they have a variety of other items on the menu that will help satisfy their customers appetites. Bill's also serves a hand-breaded steak finger, a variety of shrimp, including stuffed shrimp, and frog legs. May says they like to consider their menu made up of the best "sourthern fried comfort food."

Bill's Fish House is also known for their relaxing and family-friendly environment. May says the theme of the restaurant is to be a "friendly place where friends can meet," which is what they strive to provide for their customers.

There are two different locations of Bill's Fish House that will participating in this promotion. One is the original restaurant in Waurika, while the other is a second location that opened about ten years ago in Lone Grove.

As part of the Legendary Restaurants of Oklahoma deal, at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, customers will be able to purchase two $25 vouchers to Bill's Fish House for $25. But, there are only 100 vouchers available for purchase. The Legendary Restaurants of Oklahoma selected Bill's Fish House because of their history and reputation as a fine dining establishment.
