Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association Hosting Annual Wheat Growers Convention in December

The Oklahoma Wheat Growers Association (OWGA) Board of Directors would like to invite all Oklahoma Wheat Producers to the Annual Wheat Growers Convention on December 10, 2011 at the Express Event Center 8512 NW Expressway Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Coffee and donuts will be served at 9:30 am and the program will start at 10:00 am. A free steak dinner will be served at lunch.

Oklahoma Wheat producers will have the opportunity to hear from many outstanding speakers covering a wide variety of topics of interest to the producers. The keynote speaker for this event will be Tom Sell of Combest, Sell and Associates. Other guest speakers include, OSU Wheat Breeder, Dr. Brett Carver, who will be giving an update on the state of wheat breeding in a new world. Retired OSU Professor, Tom Peeper, will speak on why producers need to rotate crops. Chairman of the Oklahoma House Natural resources Committee Don Armes will speak on the need for producers to be involved in the legislative process.
Also on the agenda will be reports from Chairman of the House Agriculture Frank Lucas's Staff, the National Association of Wheat Growers Past President, Jerry McReynolds ; U.S. Wheat Associates Past Chairman, Don Schieber; and Oklahoma Wheat Commission CEO Mike Schulte.
Elections for Oklahoma Wheat Growers Board of Directors will also take place along with approval of resolution which will set OWGA policy for the next year.
