Most of Oklahoma Remains in Moderate Drought- or Worse
Thu, 15 Dec 2011 10:20:14 CST
Drought conditions in Oklahoma are being called unchanged this week, with 87% of the state still in moderate drought or worse. Only a portion of the Oklahoma Panhandle now has the dubious distinction of being in exceptional drought- or D4 drought.
Just three months ago- in mid September- 69% of the state was in that D4 or Exceptional drought category.
In the last few days- there has been limited rainfall across a lot of the state- including in the areas that are in extreme or exceptional drought- the graphic below shows the amounts for the last three days- as of Thursday morning.
