Attracting White-Tailed Deer Topic of Seminar for New Producers

The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation and the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service will co-host a Spring Food Plot Seminar for agricultural producers who are new to the industry.
The seminar, which will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 8, at the Oklahoma County OSU Extension Auditorium in Oklahoma City, Okla., is designed to provide foundational knowledge about food plot establishment and wildlife habitat management practices necessary for attracting white-tailed deer.
Attendees will receive information on the positives and negatives of food plots, soil samples and white-tailed deer habitat management practices such as prescribed burning and livestock grazing.
"This seminar offers details on food plots and the importance of managing native habitat to attract white-tailed deer and other wildlife species to a producer's property," said Steven Smith, Noble Foundation wildlife and fisheries consultant. "While it is targeted to those just entering the agricultural industry, anyone may attend. The information available may be applied to many agricultural production scenarios or situations."
