USDA Ending Stock and World Production Numbers Are A Mixed Bag

The USDA released the Ending Stocks and World Production numbers this morning, Thursday, February 9, 2012, for corn, soybeans and wheat. The numbers were a mixed bag with corn ending stocks at 801 million bushels, slightly above the pre-report estimates. Soybean ending stocks came in unchanged from January at 275 million. There was a surprise in the wheat ending stocks, however, as it came in below the trade estimate and even below last months numbers at 845 million. The world ending stocks showed corn and soybeans lower and wheat with an increase.
