AFR Poster Contest Winners Announced

Students from across the state placed in the American Farmers & Ranchers (AFR) 2012 Annual Poster Contest. Each year, the AFR Youth Program captures the creativity of students across the state of Oklahoma with their poster contest. Terry Detrick, AFR president, stated "We are delighted on behalf of AFR to recognize and honor our youth, from across the state, for their talents."
Over 2,000 students across the state of Oklahoma competed in the contest. The contest consists of two divisions. Students of 1st and 2nd grade compete in Division I and students in 3rd and 4th grade compete in Division II. Division I winners include: Adriana Manzaneres, Carnegie- 1st place, Gracie Hensley, Marietta-2nd place, Jamie Peffer, Elk City- 3rd place, Brooklyn Cheromiah, Marietta-4th place and Railey Phillips, Claremore- 5th place.
Division II winners include: Katie Stephenson, Marietta-1st place, Brandon Kahn, Fairview-2nd place, Khye Weathers, Gracemont-3rd place, Karlie Jo Stanley-4th place and Levi Fisher, Boone-Apache-5th.
The judging committee was asked to choose the top five posters of each division as well as the Top 50 posters of each division. AFR awards the top five poster contest winners with U.S. Savings Bond. First place received $100, Second $75, Third $50, Fourth $50, Fifth $50.
American Farmers & Ranchers honored the top five poster winners from both divisions at the 107th AFR State Convention held February 17-18, 2012 at Embassy Suites in Norman.
