Oklahoma Farm Bureau Names Chris Kidd VP of Organization and MembershipFri, 14 Dec 2012 15:15:15 CST
Oklahoma Farm Bureau announced Chris Kidd has been named Vice President of Organization and Membership.
In his new role, Kidd will oversee membership, member benefits, commodities and the YF&R and Farm Bureau Women’s Committees.
“Knowing Chris’s diverse professional experience, I am confident in his ability to lead our membership programs and develop key leaders within Farm Bureau,” said OFB Executive Director Monica Wilke. “Chris embodies who we are as an organization, and I am excited to have him playing a key role as we continue our efforts in promoting and protecting Oklahoma agriculture.”
Kidd joined Farm Bureau in 2009 as a field representative in south central Oklahoma. He began serving as YF&R coordinator in December 2010 until becoming the director of state and national affairs in December 2011.
“I have been blessed to have a career with Oklahoma Farm Bureau representing the issues, values and beliefs of Oklahoma’s sturdy, salt-of-the-earth people,” Kidd said. “I’m eager to utilize my new position to ensure our rural way of life is honored and preserved.”
Kidd grew up on his family’s ranch in Jefferson County and earned a degree in agricultural communications from Oklahoma State University. He developed experience in education, banking and tribal affairs before joining Oklahoma Farm Bureau.
OFB is the leading agricultural organization in the state of Oklahoma. Its membership is composed of farming and ranching families from across the state.
“As the demand for agricultural products increases and the general public becomes further removed from the farm, it is crucial for our members to stay connected and to participate in the grassroots effort,” said OFB President Mike Spradling. ‘We are thankful to have someone with Chris’ dedication to agriculture leading our members and encouraging new growth in the organization.”
