Meet the Clarks- National Finalists in the Excellence in Ag Contest in Nashville

The Oklahoma Young Farmer and Rancher entry for the Excellence in Ag contest- Steve and Mindi Clark of Burlington, Oklahoma- advanced on Sunday into the Final 10 of this national competition during the 94th annual Convention of the American Farm Bureau Convention. This contest is designed as an opportunity for Young Farmers & Ranchers who do not derive the majority of their income from an owned agricultural operation, while actively contributing and growing through their involvement in Farm Bureau and agriculture, to earn recognition. Participants will be judged on their involvement in agriculture, leadership ability, involvement and participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations.

Farm Director Ron Hays caught up with this couple, who both work off the farm- Steve for the Burlington Farmers Cooperative and Mindi as an Ag Professor at Northwestern Oklahoma State University. They talk about their journey as a young farm family- and their belief in the future of agriculture as not only a way to make a living- but also as a wonderful way of life.

The National Winner in the Excellence in Agriculture competition will be named Monday afternoon at the final General Session of the AFBF in Nashville.
