Competition at the 2013 Oklahoma Youth Expo is Underway
Tue, 19 Mar 2013 15:49:14 CDT
The 2013 Oklahoma Youth Expo is underway, as thousands of FFA and 4-H members, along with their families and advisors, have converged at State Fair Park for the "world's largerst junior livestock show."
Underway way today are the Doe Kid female goat show, the Sheep Showmanship Contest, the Breeding Ewe classes and Day one of the Market Barrow Show. Also on the agenda for today- "This One's for the Girls" and the 2013 Clebrity and Legislator Showmanship Contest.
As you can tell from the picture seen here, young people are already hot and heavy into the competition- there is no better feeling in the world to have made it through the "sifting" process, parade your animal in front of the judge and he takes a second look and points his finger at you. You have placed baby! (the story behind our picture)
The Oklahoma Farm Report now has the first set of pictures from the 2013 OYE up on a Flickr set that you will want to check out. Click here for the 2013 OYE Photo set on Flickr.
Results from this first day of showing will be available later this evening- as will more pictures for our Flickr set.
