Feeder Cattle Auction Narrative Report for Mon 04/08/2013

Estimated Receipts: 6850   Last Monday: 4747   Yr Ago Monday: 3454


      Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 3.00 lower.
Feeder heifers steady to 2.00 lower. Demand very uneven for feeder
cattle. Stocker steers and steer calves steady to 2.00 higher;
Stocker heifers and heifer calves mostly steady. Demand very good,
for stockers and calves, especially thin fleshed cattle headed to grass.
Supply includes an increased number of new crop calves as well as
fleshy fed at feeder cattle. Quality mostly average. Last week much of
Oklahoma saw some beneficial rains with 1-3 inches falling in many areas.
More rain and storms are in the forecast as a cold front is expected to
hit sometime on Tuesday.


   Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: Calves: 500-525 lbs 166.00-175.50,
lot 515 lbs fleshy 166.00; 575-600 lbs fleshy 146.00-157.50; lot 595 lbs
thin fleshed 172.00; 600-670 lbs 138.50-144.00; load 630 lbs fancy
154.00; Yearlings: 600-650 lbs 155.00-165.00, lot 600 lbs thin
fleshed 168.00; 650-700 lbs 145.50-152.50; 700-750 lbs 140.00-146.00;
