Feeder Cattle Auction Narrative Report for Mon 06/03/2013

ompared to last test 2 weeks ago: Feeder steers and heifers 3.00-6.00 higher. Demand good for feeder cattle. Steer and heifer calves not well tested but a firm undertone is noted. Quality plain to average, few attractive. Wheat harvest is well underway in Southern Oklahoma but cool temperatures and heavy rains has wheat pastures in Central Oklahoma a few weeks from maturity. Central Oklahoma received up to 11 inches of rain over the weekend and many wheat pastures are or were covered in water. Rainchances continue this week so that drying time won't start any time soon. Supply included 87 percent over 600 lbs. and 37 percent heifers.
