Feeder Cattle Auction Close for 6/17/13

Compared to last week, steer calves steady to 2.00 higher with the increase on the heavy end, heifer calves steady, yearlings 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Demand moderate to good, supply moderate. Buyers bidding aggressive for a good offering of yearlings. Cattle futures closed with modest gains. Plenty of moisture across the trade area, but no one is complaining after suffering through last summer. The feeder supply included 57 percent steers, 39 percent heifers, 04 percent bulls, with 68 percent over 600 lbs.
