Electric Co-ops Deeply Disappointed at House Failure to Pass Farm Bill
Thu, 20 Jun 2013 16:15:08 CDT
The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) and its member electric cooperatives expressed strong disappointment that the U.S. House of Representatives failed to reach consensus on a new five-year Farm Bill.
"Today's floor vote leaves millions of rural American families and businesses in limbo," said NRECA Senior Vice President of Government Relations Kirk Johnson. "We urge Representatives of all districts to redouble their efforts and hammer out an equitable Farm Bill that provides the resources rural America needs to help develop and sustain economically vibrant communities."
