Talking Feeder Cattle Outlook- Dr. Derrell Peel

Feeder cattle supplies are likely to be tighter in the remaining months of 2013- and that should help support prices for both calves and yearlings- so says Extension Livestock Market Economist Dr. Derrell Peel of Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Peel also discusses forage conditions, which have improved in some parts of the country. Pasture conditions may determine whether cow-calf producers will be willing to hold back heifers later in 2013 or early in 2014.
