Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 07/29/2013

Estimated Receipts: 4500   Last Monday: 9245   Yr Ago Monday: 4496

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 2.00-4.00 higher. Feeder heifers steady to 3.00 higher. Demand very good for feeder cattle. Ideal growing conditions and expectations of a good corn crop continues to put downward pressure on corn futures. Steer calves 4.00-8.00 higher. Heifer calves 3.00-6.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves under 500 lbs just lightly tested. Demand also very good for calves. Quality mostly plain to average. More rains fell late last week with beneficial rains falling in the drought areas of Western and Southwestern Oklahoma. Rains again moving in from the north today.

Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: Calves: few 500-550 lbs 184.00-190.00, lot 545 lbs 173.00; 550-600 lbs 165.00-176.00, fleshy 580-590 lbs 149.00-150.00; 600-675 lbs 146.00-156.00; 725-775 lbs 137.50-145.75; Yearlings: 600-700 lbs 153.75-164.00; 700-750 lbs 151.00-156.00;750-800 lbs 148.75-152.00; 800-850 lbs 145.00-150.00; 850-900 lbs 140.00-146.25; lot 925 lbs 138.00.   

Medium and Large 1-2: 445 lbs 169.00; 600-700 lbs 146.00-157.00; 700-800 lbs 141.50-146.00; 845-900 lbs 134.00-139.00; 925-985 lbs 131.50-134.00; lot 1025 lbs 129.00.

Feeder Heifers Medium and Large 1: Calves: pkg 325 lbs 170.00; few 400-500 lbs 153.50-164.00, 495 lbs fleshy 144.50; 500-550 lbs 144.00-156.00, lot 545 lbs thin fleshed 157.00; 550-600 lbs 143.00-154.00; 500-600 lbs fleshy 138.00-144.50; 600-675 lbs 135.00-139.00; Yearlings: 600-675 lbs 140.50-148.50; 700-750 lbs 134.50-143.75; 750-800 lbs 134.00-141.25; 800-860 lbs 132.25-137.50; fe 900-975 lbs 122.50-127.50; pkg 1050 lbs 121.00.
