Boxed Beef Trade Sounds Lower Note as 2013 Winds Down, Ed Czerwien Says

The boxed beef trade ending last Friday, December 21, closed on a lower note according to the USDA's Ed Czerwien reporting from Amarillo, Texas.
The daily spot choice boxed beef cutout closed at $196.79 which was $2.10 lower than the previous week. But, only 629 loads were sold for the week.
The comprehensive or average choice cutout was at $198.05 and that was $3.52 lower on the week.
The total boxed beef volume was 6,295 loads which was 561 loads less than the previous week.
Exports were at 695 loads which was 63 loads better than last week, but still a small number compared with the past year.
