Drought Conditions Ease Over Course of 2013- The Latest Graphic
Tue, 31 Dec 2013 05:26:21 CST
Drought Conditions persist in western counties of Oklahoma- but as 2013 ends- the drought map looks much better than it did in January of 2013. The graphic above shows that only the far southwest still clings to the exceptional drought level- found in three counties making up 2.4% of the state. At the begining of the year, 37% of the state was in that exceptional category which almost matches the 38% of the state that is now in any level of drought as of December 24, 2013.
Half of the state remains in abnormally dry or drought conditions in this latest report- and December was dry enough in those western counties that there was some increase in drought coverage.
