NCFC Applauds House Passage of Farm Bill, Urge Swift Senate Consideration
Wed, 29 Jan 2014 10:51:54 CST
The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives (NCFC) today applauded House passage of the conference report on the farm bill, and urged the Senate to act on the measure without delay.
"The House vote today brings us one step closer to the end of the long, arduous process of passing a new five-year farm bill," said Chuck Conner, president and CEO of NCFC. "While the final bill is imperfect, it will provide farmers, ranchers and co-ops the certainty needed as they complete planning for the 2014 crop year.
"We now urge the Senate to move quickly in approving the conference report, and when that occurs, hope that President Obama will sign the bill into law without delay," concluded Conner.
