Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 03/03/2014

Actual Receipts: 2203   Last Monday: 10,592 Year Ago Monday: 9090

Compared to last week: Numbers limited once again due to winter storm that moved in over the weekend. Feeder cattle and calves not well tested but a sharply higher undertone noted. Demand extremely good for the limited numbers. Quality average thru attractive with several cattle in gaunt conditions. Receipts this week totaled 83 percent over 600 lbs and 34 percent heifers.

   
Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: lot 395 lbs 235.00; few 450-500 lbs 223.00-232.00; few 500-555 lbs 212.00-231.00; few 550-600 lbs 200.00-204.00; 600-650 lbs 193.00-196.00; 650-700 lbs 174.50-189.50; 700-750 lbs 172.00-178.00, 700 lbs fancy 182.00; lot 785 lbs 169.00; 800-900 lbs 158.00-165.00; few 925-950 lbs 155.25-160.75.

Medium and Large 1-2: lot 490 lbs 201.00; lot 565 lbs 196.00; lot 725 lbs 172.00; 750-800 lbs 160.00-164.00; 800-900 lbs 155.00-160.50.
   
Medium and Large 2: pkg 515 lbs thin fleshed 216.00; lot 635 lbs 189.00.

   
Feeder Heifers Medium and Large 1: lot 360 lbs 212.00; 550-600 lbs 169.50-180.50; few 645-675 lbs 165.00-171.50; 700-755 lbs 154.75-161.50; 800-875 lbs 150.00-155.00.
