Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for Monday 04/28/2014


   

Actual Receipts: 7257   Last Monday: 6069   Year Ago Monday: 6606

Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 800 lbs and heifers under 700 lbs mostly steady; heavier weight steers sold 3.00-5.00 higher. Heifers over 700 lbs 1.00-3.00 higher. Demand very good for feeder cattle, especially those heavier weight cattle that will finish in the fall. Steer and heifer calves sold 2.00-5.00 higher. Several thin fleshed light weight cattle included in the mix and these sold to very good demand. Good rains fell over the weekend in central Oklahoma but temps will also be cooling back into the mid 60's. Supply included 65 percent steers and 35 percent heifers. Supply weighing over 600 lbs was 86 percent.
