Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 04/30/2014


   

Receipts: 7439    Last Week: 5192    Year Ago: 7112


Compared to last week: Feeders steers traded 3.00 to 5.00 higher with most increases seen on cattle over 900 lbs. Feeder heifers traded 4.00 to 6.00 higher. No trend available for calves due to light receipts however demand was very good. Feeder cattle demand remains good to very good. Quality plain to attractive. Hot and dry weather is forecasted for the end of the week and thru the weekend. Receipts this week totaled 88 percent over 600 lbs and 30 percent heifers.

   
Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: Calves: few 350 lbs 277.00; 400-450 lbs 248.00-267.00; 450-500 lbs 236.00-247.00; 500-600 lbs 202.00-222.00, fleshy 525 lbs 212.00; 625-675 lbs 181.00-195.00; Yearlings: 600-700 lbs 194.50-214.00; 700-800 lbs 177.00-190.00; 800-900 lbs 169.00-178.50; 900-1000 lbs 156.50-167.50, few fleshy 950 lbs 160.00; 1000-1100 lbs 153.50-159.00.
   
Medium and Large 1-2: Calves: 300-350 lbs 262.00-265.00; 425-500 lbs 224.00-251.00, few 400 lbs fleshy 212.00; 500-550 lbs 200.00-214.00, few fleshy 500 lbs 201.00; 550-600 lbs 191.00-204.00, thin fleshed 585 lbs 213.00; 670-700 lbs 170.00-173.50; Yearlings: 650-700 lbs 179.00-192.50; 700-800 lbs 168.75-180.00, load 740 lbs thin fleshed 185.25; 800-900 lbs 157.00-167.75; 900-1000 lbs 155.00-164.00.
