Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for Monday 05/12/2014

Actual Receipts: 8781   Last Monday: 9655   Year Ago Monday: 8551

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 2.00-4.00 higher.

Heifer calves steady to 3.00 higher. Demand again very good for feeder
cattle with several large drafts available. Weigh-ups very much in the
buyers favor with many cattle in average to gaunt conditions, few full.
Warm weather was reported across the state through the weekend, with the
western half of the state remaining abnormally dry. Scattered showers
are present in the central regions of the state today and are moving
east, which is accompanied by a cold front that will bring much cooler
temperatures to the state this week. Receipts this week totaled 85
