Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 08/12/2014

Actual Receipts: 4391     Last Monday: 5228     Year Ago Monday: 4980

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers weighing under 800 lbs traded mostly 6.00 to 10.00 lower. Feeder steer and heifers weighing over 800 lbs traded 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves mostly 10.00 to 20.00 lower on a light test. Quality typical of the summer, plain to average. The downward pressure on the market today is in line with the weakness observed by the CME Feeder Cattle contract late last week. Supply included 82 percent over 600 lbs; 57 percent heifers.
