Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 09/24/2014

Receipts: 4162    Last Week: 4176    Year Ago: 5234

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold steady. Feeder heifers traded mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves sold with a higher undertone on comparable sales due to last week's light offering. Demand moderate to good for all classes. Cooler temperatures came in over the weekend with good chances for rain.
Supply this week included 64 percent over 600 lbs and 30 percent heifers.


Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 375-400 lbs 345.00-350.00; 425-500 lbs 283.00-311.00, fancy 337.50-350.00; 500-555 lbs 256.00-272.00, fleshy 234.00-251.00; 600-700 lbs 220.00-236.00, pkg 650 lbs fancy 269.00, 665-700 lbs fleshy 210.00-220.00; 700-785 lbs 215.00-239.00; Yearlings: 625-650 lbs 247.50-256.00; lot 660 lbs 239.00; 700-800 lbs 232.50-241.50; 800-900 lbs 218.60-228.00; 900-1000 lbs 202.75-216.60; 1035-1050 lbs 193.00-198.00.
