Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 10/29/2014

Receipts: 3951    Last Week: 5732    Year Ago: 3753

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly steady in a light test. Steer calves sold 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Heifer calves under 550 lbs sold sharply higher; over 550 lbs 2.00-6.00 higher. Demand moderate to good for all classes, especially for long weaned calves headed for wheat pasture. Fall has finally arrived in Oklahoma with the extended weather forecast calling for cold mornings and mild afternoons. Supply included 67 percent over 600 lbs; 42 percent heifers.

   
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 340-400 lbs 370.00-400.00; 400-450 lbs 328.00-345.00; 450-500 lbs 300.00-325.00; 500-550 lbs 287.00-304.00; 550-600 lbs 270.00-288.00; 600-700 lbs 237.00-253.50, fleshy 231.00-235.00; 700-800 lbs 220.00-231.00; Yearlings: 600-700 lbs 246.00-264.00, lot value added 690 lbs 263.00; 700-800 lbs 234.00-245.00; 800-900 lbs 227.50-242.50; 900-1000 lbs 203.50-222.85.
