Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 11/24/2014

Estimated Receipts: 6000     Last Monday: 4588     Year Ago Monday: 1412

Compared to last week: Feeder steers traded mostly steady to 1.00 higher, with instances of up to 8.00 higher on 650-700 lb steers. Feeder heifers traded 6.00 to 7.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves traded mostly 1.00 to 5.00 higher, with the exception of 550-600 lb steers and heifers which were 4.00 to 6.00 lower. Quality was mostly plain. Fall like weather has returned to the state, with temperatures remaining in the 50's and 60's for the rest of the week. According to USDA-NASS, 93 percent of the winter wheat crop has emerged, which is 4 points above average for this time of year.
