ICYMI Video- Oklahoma Ag Secretary Jim Reese Reviews 2014 and Talks About Goals for 2015

Looking back at 2014, it was a mixed bag for Oklahoma's farmers and ranchers. Wheat farmers battled drought and had one of the smallest crops in the state's history, but there were also some bright spots too. In recapping the year, Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Jim Reese said one of the big surprises was the arrival of June and July rains bringing one of the wettest summers.
"Summer crops did really well, helped a lot of recovery, commodity prices have been good, so agriculture in general has been good," Reese said. "Since the 2011 drought we've been recovering ever since, every rainfall has been good."
Reese also talked with Farm Director Ron Hays about the cattle market for 2014- and how that has helped Oklahoma producers in having the resources to start rebuilding their beef cow herds.
Reese was a guest with Hays for an In the Field segment - reviewing 2014 and looking ahead to the setting of goals for 2015. You can see Hays and Secretary Reese by clicking on play button in the VIDEO BOX below.
Hays also did a more extensive radio interview with the Secertary as well- you can listen to the full interview and read more from that interview as well by clicking here.
