AFR Urges Yes Vote on HB1104, Feral Hog Bill

Letter From: Terry Detrick, President, American Farmers and Ranchers
As a General Farm Organization representing over 130,000 people from all walks of life and especially rural Oklahoma; as a guardian of private property rights which is one of the foundation corner stones of American Farmers and Ranchers (AFR); as a strong supporter of commercial production agriculture in the state of Oklahoma; and with a major interest in public safety and food safety; We strongly support HB 1104 and would respectfully request a YES vote on this bill.
The grassroots policy from our statewide membership respects the right for fenced hunting operations to maintain a feral hog population on their private property and for permitted trappers to assist with controlling the feral hog population.....But, with a responsibility to protect the commercial swine industry, the public and all other entities wherein disease or destruction could become an issue unless appropriately controlled and enforced.
On behalf of the membership of AFR, 'Thank You' for your public service and positive consideration toward the passage of HB 1104.
