Feeder Cattle Summary Report for 04/08/2015

Receipts: 5303    Last Week: 6770    Year Ago: 3674

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold steady to 3.00 higher. Feeder heifers traded mostly steady with exception of cattle over 800 lbs trading 2.00 to 4.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves sold with a weak undertone in a light test. Severe weather systems are expected to impact the state tonight and over the weekend with possible tornadic capabilities and large hail. Wheat fields in the central part of the state are in good condition but rain is still needed. Demand continues to be good for all classes; light weight calves headed for summer grass pasture was very good. Quality was average to attractive for feeder steers; feeder heifers were plain to average. Supply included 82 percent over 600 lbs; 36 percent heifers.
