Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 07/22/2015


   

Receipts: 4977    Last Week: 5770    Year Ago: 3787

ompared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers were mostly steady to 2.00 lower on comparable sales, with the majority of the supply consisting of thin fleshed Medium and Large 1-2. Not enough comparable sales on steer or heifer calves for a market trend. Quality was mostly plain to average, with the flesh conditions of cattle coming off grass in the buyers favor. Scattered rain and storms came across the state early this week and have brought some much needed relief to the hot temperatures. However, temperatures are expected to return to the 90's and 100's later in the week and thru the weekend. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. Supply included 87 percent over 600 lbs and 23 percent heifers.
