Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 07/13/2015

Actual Receipts: 6546   Last Monday: 2,086   Year Ago Monday: 7,035

Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales on steers or heifers from last week's light test for a market trend. Temperatures are forecasted to rise into the 90's for the rest of the week and through the weekend with heat indexes expected to be up to 105 degrees. Demand is moderate to good for weaned cattle, but buyers are hesitant to buy un-weaned calves due to the severe heat in the forecast. Supply included 75 percent over 600 lbs and 37 percent heifers.
