Representative Jerry McPeak Honored by Oklahoma Cattlemen
Tue, 28 Jul 2015 16:41:03 CDT
The Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association (OCA) honored Representative Jerry McPeak and presented him with the 2015 OCA Legislative Appreciation Award.
Representative McPeak was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 2005. He serves on many committees such as Appropriations and Budget, Energy and Natural Resources and Transportation.
"Representative McPeak is a cattleman serving in the legislature and he therefore knows the issues cattle producers face every day," shared Charlie Swanson, OCA President.
For example, Representative McPeak championed a resolution this past year setting the Oklahoma House and Senate opposed to the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule.
"Representative McPeak sees the far-reaching breach of private property rights in WOTUS and is helping us push back on the EPA," Swanson added.
OCA is proud to work with many legislators who defend Oklahoma's farmers and ranchers and understand the importance of having family farms and ranches as our food and fiber producers.
"Representative McPeak is a great friend to Oklahoma agriculture and we are proud to be able to honor him with our 2015 Legislative Appreciation Award," concluded Swanson.
