Feeder Cattle Auction for 08/24/15

   Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves 10.00 to 20.00 lower, yearlings 5.00 to 10.00 lower. Demand moderate to light, supply moderate. The sharp sell-off stocks in the world markets has pressured the feeder cattle trade. Live Cattle trading 197.00 to 237.00 lower and Feeder Cattle trading 3.50-4.55 lower at the CME. The recent USDA Cattle On Feed report showed 103 percent On Feed, 99 percent Placements, 97 percent Marketed. Placements and Marketed lowest for July since series began in 1996. The feeder supply included 58 percent steers, 36 percent heifers, 06 percent bulls, with 51 percent over 600 lbs.
