Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 09/16/2015

Receipts: 7680    Last Week: 4867    Year Ago: 4176

Compared to last week: Feeder steers 10.00-15.00 lower. Feeder heifers 10.00-12.00 lower. No trend established for steer and heifer calves due to no comparable sales; however, a significantly lower undertone was noted. Quality was plain to attractive. Demand was moderate at best for feeders as the CME Board closed nearly down the limit. Weather is controlling the demand for calves as buyers are unwilling to deal with the difficulties of maintaining calf health during this changing of the seasons. Supply included 83 percent over 600 lbs and 37 percent heifers.
