Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 10/05/2015

Actual Receipts: 6,850   Last Monday: 6,222   Year Ago Monday: 8,428

    Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers again lightly tested. Limited numbers of feeder steers sold 4.00-6.00 lower. Feeder heifers were 2.00-5.00 lower. Demand moderate to good for feeder cattle. Steer and heifer calves 10.00-15.00 lower, instance of 20.00 lower. Demand moderate for calves with limited demand on short weaned or un-weaned calves.   Today's run very typical of the fall with bulk supply calves. Quality average to attractive. After a very wet spring and early summer, many areas in Oklahoma are dry once again. Moisture from the gulf is expected to move this way later in the week giving us a chance of rain. Supply included 66 percent over 600 lbs. and 49 percent heifers.
