AQHA is also celebrating its 75th Anniversary with many activities. AQHA Spokesperson Sarah Davisson said the show features exhibitors from 46 states and nine countries.
"Owners and exhibitors, they've put their time and dedication into just qualifying to compete right here at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City," Davisson said. "They've been traveling all year long just to earn enough points to compete."
The AQHA World Championship Show is the largest single-breed championship horse show in the world. Horsemen from the United States, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Germany and Switzerland are competing for 100 world championships at this year's event. Davisson said this year's show has a record breaking 4,700 plus entries.
One of the biggest changes visitors will notice is the order of events. This week, the open division consisting of the best horse trainers in the world are competing for world titles. Next week, the amateur events will take place at State Fair Park.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the American Quarter Horse Foundation and the concert will take place as a part of the AQHA 75th Anniversary Celebration. Tickets are $40 per person and can be purchased online or at the box office in the Jim Norick Arena. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 8:30 p.m.
One American Quarter Horse will emerge as the best of the best in being crowned the 2015 Farnam Superhorse. The Farnam Superhorse Award is presented to the American Quarter Horse earning the most points in the show's open division of competition. The award recognizes one of the most versatile horses of the AQHA World Championship Show. Davisson said this year 25 horses are competing for the title. The winner receives $25,000 and many prizes. The award will be presented on Sunday, November 15th.
Attendees can look forward to watching the top equestrians and American Quarter Horses compete in the arena, but there is plenty going on outside the show ring. Take a break from the world championship action to enjoy the Christmas Roundup Gift and trade show, with free admission; it features more than 100 vendors selling home décor, jewelry, tack, western attire and more in the Cox Pavilion. Trailer World in the Centennial Building will feature ten trailer companies displaying the latest in horse trailer models.
Open daily on the concourse, the Kidz Corral is a place for kids of all ages to have some fun.
