Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 11/16/2015

Actual Receipts: 7,371   Last Monday: 10,796   Year Ago Monday: 4,588

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers lightly tested and limited sales were steady to 5.00 lower. Demand very good for true yearling cattle. Steer calves under 500 lbs steady; over 500 lbs 3.00-8.00 lower. Heifer calves 2.00-8.00 lower. Demand good for calves in medium flesh and 60 plus days weaned; light to moderate for others. Quality plain to average, few attractive, however a light misty rain fell most of the day giving the supply of cattle a more plain appearance. Not many positives to start this week after a 5.00 loss in the fed cattle trade last week and another day of sharp declines in the cattle futures. Supply included 54 percent over 600 lbs. and 32 percent heifers.
