Rogers County Woman Arrested for Theft of Baby Calf
A Rogers County woman was arrested Mon. and charged with larceny of a domestic animal after she stole a baby calf from a Rogers County rancher. A second suspect has been identified and is being sought for the same charges.

Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) Special Ranger John Cummings led the investigation and TSCRA Special Ranger Bart Perrier assisted.

According to Cummings, the investigation began on Oct. 21 when a newborn baby calf was consigned at the Vinita Livestock Auction. The employees at the livestock auction said they became suspicious when the malnourished calf was unloaded from inside the cab of a pickup driven by the suspects, Jenny Lynn Davis, 36, and Robbie Don Ellis, 24. The livestock auction staff contacted Cummings and an investigation was initiated.

Cummings said the investigation revealed that the calf had been stolen from a ranch located in Rogers County, where the suspects were temporarily living . When the victim was contacted, he stated he had known that the calf was recently born, but was unaware it had been stolen from his property.

The case was presented to the Rogers County District Attorney's office and both Davis and Ellis were charged with one count of larceny of a domestic animal. Davis was arrested on a $2,000 bond and Ellis is currently being sought for the charge.

TSCRA would like to thank the Rogers County Sheriff's Office Investigators Sgt. Gavin Gatrell and Sgt. Kyle Baker for their assistance in this investigation.
