Steaks for Troops Fundraiser Set for Monday December 14 at Oklahoma National Stockyards

Steaks for Troops Fundraiser Set for Monday December 14 at Oklahoma National Stockyards National Livestock Credit Corporation and affiliated companies are pleased toannounce their support, once again, for the All American Beef Battalion. On Monday, December 14th, the Oklahoma National Stockyards will auction a calffor the benefit of the All American Beef Battalion. The sale will take place atapproximately 11:00 a.m. in the sale arena of the Stockyards.


The calf to be auctioned is being donated by 3C Cattle Feeders and the Clyde Runyanfamily of Mill Creek, Oklahoma. National Livestock Credit Corporation will invoicebuyers and collect checks.


This is the 6th year for the National Livestock companies to be involved insupporting the All American Beef Battalion. With the 2014 auction bringing in morethan $60,000, contributors to this event have raised over $220,000 from the annualauction of a donated calf.


Danny Jones is the President of Superior Livestock, a part of the National Livestock family, and Jones told Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays that "Oklahoma City has stood out as one of the key locations to raise money for the All American Beef Battalion." Jones says the donated calf will be sold and resold several times- and that for those wishing to make a smaller donation- that can be done as an "add on" on Monday- live or via a telephone pledge. "Many organizations and individuals have joined together for this worthy causeeach year. The efforts of many have made this successful and we thank all ourpartners and friends for their help. Through these auctions, approximately 22,000troops have been fed an American ribeye steak upon their return home fromdeployment," stated Robert York, CEO of National Livestock Credit Corporation.
