Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 12/09/2015

Receipts: 11,707     Last Week: 5,955     Year Ago: 5,510

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 8.00-12.00 lower. Steer calves 6.00-12.00 lower. Heifer calves 10.00-15.00 lower. Long weaned, light weight calves sold steady. Demand moderate for feeder cattle. Cattle futures continue to fall with today's close 10.00 down from a week ago. Quality average to attractive but not as attractive as last week. Demand to moderate for calves. Short weaned cattle not as attractive to buyers as temps are expected to warm into the low 70's the next few days and night temps dropping into the 40's. Receipts include several value added cattle that are a part of the Oklahoma Quality Beef Network. Supply included 59 percent over 600 lbs and 36 percent heifers.
