Joplin Regional Stockyards - Close

Feeder Cattle Auction for 11/30/15

Receipts: 2950    Week Ago: 8449    Year Ago: 6233

Compared to last week, steer calves steady to 5.00 lower, heifer calves and yearlings 5.00 to 8.00 lower. Demand moderate to light, supply light. The wet weather across the central U.S. has curtailed feeder cattle demand as backgrounders and feedlots are dealing with either ice or mud. Feeder Cattle contracts at the CME are trading sharply down. The feeder supply included 55 percent steers, 39 percent heifers, 06 percent bulls, with 46 percent over 600 lbs.

***Note: Joplin Regional Stockyards will have a Special Value Added Sale, Thursday, December 3, 2015. Expecting 6000 head of Wean-Vac calves. A Special Video Sale will be held after the Value Added feeder cattle sale.
