Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 07/12/2016

Receipts: 10,994       Last Week: Holiday       Year Ago: 5,770

   Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder Steers sold 3.00-5.00 lower. Feeder heifers steady to 4.00 lower with least change on 600 and 700 lb cattle. Steer and heifer calves not well tested, but a lower undertone was noted. Demand good for feeder cattle after the holiday week of limited sales. Quality average to attractive. Hot and humid weather is expected to continue throughout the week and into the weekend. Supply included 84 percent over 600 lbs and 40 percent heifers.

   Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1 Calves: lot 475 lbs 167.50; 2 loads 595 lbs 164.50, fleshy 143.00; 600-650 lbs 144.00-148.00; load 655 lbs 141.00; 700-750 lbs 141.00-143.50; Yearlings: 650-700 lbs 143.25-147.51; 725-735 lbs 147.75-149.00; 750-800 lbs 138.75-143.50; 800-850 lbs 133.50-140.00; 850-900 lbs 131.50-138.75; 900-950 lbs 127.00-133.75; 950-1000 lbs 124.25-129.50, fleshy 120.00-122.25. 1050 lbs 125.00-127.50, thin fleshed 131.50.
   Medium and Large 1-2: 450-460 lbs 159.00-160.00; 525-600 lbs 142.00-143.50; 625-700 lbs 139.00-149.00, calves 134.00; 700-800 lbs 134.00-140.25; 825-900 lbs 124.50-135.50; 940-975 lbs 124.25-127.50; 1015-1065 lbs 118.50-125.50.
