Governor Mary Fallin Declares State of Emergency Due to Severe Storms Governor Mary Fallin today declared a state of emergency for 35 Oklahoma counties due to severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding that began July 13.



The counties included in the governorís declaration are: Adair, Beckham, Caddo, Canadian, Cherokee, Craig, Creek, Garfield, Grady, Grant, Haskell, Kay, Kingfisher, Latimer, LeFlore, Lincoln, Logan, Mayes, McCurtain, McIntosh, Muskogee, Noble, Nowata, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Payne, Pittsburg, Pottawatomie, Pushmataha, Rogers, Sequoyah, Tulsa, Wagoner and Washington.



Fallinís executive order allows state agencies to make emergency purchases related to disaster relief and preparedness. The declaration also marks a first step toward seeking federal aid should it be necessary.



Under the executive order, the state of emergency lasts for 30 days.



The governor also signed an executive order that temporarily suspends the requirements for size and weights permits of oversized vehicles that are transporting materials and supplies used for storm relief.
