Holly Blakey Named Assistant Executive Director of the Oklahoma FFA Foundation

Holly Blakey has been named the assistant executive director of the Oklahoma FFA Foundation and will begin January 1, 2017. The appointment was made official by the foundation board of directors at their October 26, 2016 meeting. Following Kendall Brashears' retirement as the executive director in June 2017, Blakey will assume the executive director's role.
Blakey, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural communications from Oklahoma State University, has held positions in marketing and public relations mostly in the fields of education and agriculture. Most recently she has been employed by OSU as a member of the communications staff in the college of education and as an adjunct faculty member with the college of agricultural sciences and natural resources.
Blakey also has extensive experience with many facets of the Oklahoma FFA. As a student at Morrison High School, Blakey was involved with sheep production, public speaking and leadership activities. She served as the State FFA Reporter in 1990-91 and since that year has served on the state staff at the annual State FFA Convention. She earned her American FFA Degree in 1991.
Blakey has also served the organization in selection of Oklahoma national officer candidates, state officer candidates, as a judge for numerous state level competitions and was a national proficiency award judge. She also served for several years as the editor of The Outlook. She and her husband, Bo Blakey, are proud FFA parents to daughters Adrienne, the current Oklahoma FFA State Reporter and Adyson, a greenhand member of the Stillwater FFA chapter. Their youngest daughter, Avary, is an active member of the 4-H and will join the FFA next fall.
In 2015 Blakey was added to the Oklahoma FFA Past State Officers Hall of Fame. She is privileged to hold the honorary American FFA degree, honorary Oklahoma state FFA degree and honorary chapter degrees from the Stillwater and Comanche, Okla. FFA chapters.
The Oklahoma FFA Foundation seeks to strengthen Agricultural Education and the FFA so students can develop their potential for personal growth, career success and leadership. The Foundation strives to provide businesses, associations, private foundations and individuals the opportunity to contribute to the leadership development programs of the Oklahoma FFA Association through the Oklahoma FFA Foundation.
The Foundation further commits to support a culture of excellence in the instruction of science, technology, production, processing and business as they relate to the field of agriculture. The Foundation also strives to assist the general public of Oklahoma in understanding the vital and necessary role played by the agriculture, food and forestry industries in the state.
